An exploration of the subconscious.

I fell in love with the process of relief printing in a studio with proper oil-based inks, space, and large rollers.

It felt very freeing loosely gesturing marks onto a big piece of glass and then printing the outcome.

My idea was influenced by some small-scale collages I have made at home during the pandemic, I then took that same process and applied it on a larger scale.

Using rice paste alongside an industrial printing press, I was able to chine colle the printed material together to create these three compositions.

Monotype is seen as the painterly form of printmaking, it was in these series where I understood the potential of this form of expression.

Each piece is 26"x33" on fully archival acid-free paper.
